Privacy Policy
This document is provided in English, which is the legally binding version.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how ONIQ TECHNOLOGIES LTD ("Oniq", "we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Oniq Wallet mobile application and the website at oniqwallet.com (together, the "Service").
Company: ONIQ TECHNOLOGIES LTD · Company number: 17335074 (registered in England and Wales) · Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom · Contact: [email protected].
For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, ONIQ TECHNOLOGIES LTD is the data controller for the limited personal data described below.
2. Oniq Wallet is non-custodial
Oniq Wallet is a non-custodial wallet. This is the single most important thing to understand about how we handle your information:
- We do not create, hold, store, transmit, or have any access to your private keys, seed/recovery phrases, or wallet passwords. These are generated and stored only on your device, under your sole control.
- We cannot access, move, freeze, recover, or reverse your funds or transactions.
- We do not take custody or control of any digital assets. You alone control your assets at all times.
3. Information we do NOT collect
We never collect, and are not technically able to collect:
- Your private keys, seed phrases, or recovery phrases;
- Your wallet password or device passcode;
- Direct access to your digital assets.
4. Information we may collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process the following limited data:
- Technical and device data: device model, operating system and version, app version, language settings, and similar technical identifiers.
- Diagnostic and crash data: anonymous or pseudonymous logs about crashes, errors, and app performance.
- Usage analytics: aggregated, non-identifying information about how features of the app are used, where enabled.
- Network data: your IP address may be processed transiently by us or by third-party infrastructure (such as blockchain node/RPC providers) when the app broadcasts transactions or reads on-chain data.
- Support communications: if you contact us, we process the information you choose to send us, such as your email address and the contents of your message.
5. Public blockchain data
Transactions you make are recorded on public blockchains that we do not control. Data written to a blockchain (such as wallet addresses and transaction amounts) is public, permanent, and outside our control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to public blockchains or to third-party block explorers.
6. Legal bases for processing (UK GDPR)
Where we process personal data, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Service, and to prevent abuse (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
- Consent — where required, for example for certain analytics; you may withdraw consent at any time (Article 6(1)(a)).
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with applicable law (Article 6(1)(c)).
7. Third-party service providers
We may use trusted third parties to provide parts of the Service, such as crash-reporting and diagnostics providers, analytics providers, and blockchain node/RPC and infrastructure providers used to read on-chain data and broadcast transactions. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us, and some may be located outside the United Kingdom.
8. International data transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection, for example through adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses / the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, as applicable.
9. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law. Diagnostic and analytics data is retained for a limited period and then deleted or anonymised. Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
10. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request erasure of your data;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent).
11. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are solely responsible for keeping your device, seed phrase, and wallet credentials safe.
12. Children
The Service is not intended for, and may not be used by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be notified through the Service or on oniqwallet.com.
14. Complaints
If you are in the UK and believe we have not handled your personal data properly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first — please contact us at [email protected].
